Anavilhanas Expedition Cruise
Journey deeper into the Rio Negro and the immense Anavilhanas archipelago aboard a traditional regional boat.
The experience
A journey shaped
by the living forest.
Depart Manaus at 08:00 for the Meeting of the Waters and Janauari Lake. See giant water lilies and, during high water, flooded forest and creeks. Dinner is followed by caiman spotting by motorised canoe.
A three-hour forest walk introduces medicinal plants and practical survival knowledge. After lunch, visit a local family, then fish for piranhas before dinner aboard.
Sunrise wildlife watching, followed by a terra-firme forest walk among taller trees. Swim after lunch, then enter the Anavilhanas archipelago for a late-afternoon canoe exploration.
Begin at 05:15 with a final morning wildlife tour. After breakfast and fishing, navigate back down the Rio Negro, visit Indigenous families, have lunch aboard and arrive in Manaus around 17:00.
